This yearâs extended cold weather might have delayed Central Ohioans putting their homes up for sale. But now that spring has finally arrived the president of Columbus Realtors says he thinks more homes will appear on the market. There were about 8,000 Central Ohio homes and condos listed for sale last month. Thatâs what realtors call âinventory.â? That inventory was nearly 14 percent lower than in March 2013. Milt Lustnauer is president of Columbus Realtors. "The inventory is a little bit low right now simply because there are buyers out there that are buying the properties that are in pretty good shape," Lustnauer says. Lustnauer says one of the coldest winters on record delayed sellers putting their homes on the market. "Even this time last year our inventory was a lot higher but we do see more houses coming on the market," he says. Lustnauer says the median sale price for a home that sold last month was $143,500, up 6.3 percent compared to March 2013.
