Tressel Applies For Another Presidential Post

Former Ohio State football coach and current University of Akron vice president Jim Tressel has formally applied to be the next president of Youngstown State University. Tressel coached at YSU before heading to Ohio State. He’s also considered a candidate to be the next president at Akron. It’s unclear how the NCAA sanctions of 2011 against Tressel might affect his candidacy for a presidential post. It refers only to restrictions on athletic activities, which some think would only impede his coaching prospects. Tressel was pushed to resign after failing to relay reports of players selling and trading memorabilia. The scandal led to suspensions of several star players, including former quatrerback Terrell Pryor.
