City Issues Proposed Capital Improvements Budget

Columbus mayor Michael Coleman today released his capital improvements budget. His office calls it an unprecedented investment in parks, bike paths pools and recreation centers. The proposal calls for spending $8 million to improve urban infrastructure, $6 million for fire fighters and police and nearly $3 million on street and snow equipment. The city was heavily criticized this earlier this winter for taking several days to plow many city streets. The mayor also calls for 33-million dollars in street re-surfacing and alley restoration.
