The city council in Chillicothe is considering a long-debated measure to set standards on cleaning up old meth labs. The proposal would require property owners to evacuate and board up a house found to be a meth lab, notify neighbors about hazardous chemicals, and fine property owners who donât comply. It would also create a public database of discovered meth labs. The Chillicothe proposal comes after state lawmakers declined to pass any of at least three similar bills.
