Auditors Will Brief Columbus School Leaders On Data Investigation

State auditors Wednesday are scheduled to privately brief Columbus school district leaders on their examination of alleged grade and attendance rigging. The investigation began 18 months ago. School Board president Gary Baker says he's not yet seen audit results but he promises a quick response. "The board and district administration will respond accordingly," says Baker. "I made it clear in my remarks at the last board meeting that this board is not going to tolerate conduct that compromises the integrity of the district." Once the audit results are released to the district, officials have five days to respond. District responses will be included when the full audit is made public during the last week in January.
