Former Columbus School Bus Driver Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving

A former Columbus City Schools bus driver has pleaded guilty to driving a school bus while drunk last month. Tia Denton was arrested last month for operating a vehicle under the influence and endangering children. She was pulled over after running two hours late in dropping off students. Witnesses say Denton was driving erratically. Police say they found an open bottle of whiskey on the bus and blood tests showed she was legally drunk. Denton resigned her position with the district shortly after being arrested…she's scheduled to be sentenced in February.
