Central Ohio Companies See Mixed Results In Recent Earnings

Two of the region's largest private employers are celebrating some good news today, while another Central Ohio mainstay is limping through the fall. Dublin-based Wendy's reports a stronger-than-expected third quarter with revenues growing to $641 million. The burger chain credited gains over the same period last year to the introduction of the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. Retail giant Limited Brands says store sales increased sharply in the month of October, nearly $70 million more than the same month last year. The company's lingerie brand Victoria's Secret saw comparable store sales rise four times analyst expectations. Meanwhile, pretty teen brand Abercrombie & Fitch is struggling. Stock prices tumbled more than 10 percent yesterday and the company now predicts weak holiday sales.
