Ohio State Universityâs interim head Joseph Alutto today reiterated that he is not actively seeking the presidentâs position permanently. Speaking today on WOSUâs All Sides With Ann Fisher, Alutto said the decision is the search committeeâs to make. âThis is not a position that you really apply for,â? Alutto said. âThis is something that the timing seems right, the fit seems right, the ability to commit for the long term seems right. And this is really not a decision for me to make.â? Alutto took over as interim president upon the retirement of E. Gordon Gee. Gee resigned July 1st after comments he made disparaging Catholics and the SEC came to light.
