Columbus Unveils New Bike Share Program

The city of Columbus has a new bike share program. It’s called "CoGo" and is modeled after similar programs in other cities. Columbus officials call it a green and affordable way for visitors making short stops around downtown. Riders can sign up for an annual membership of $75, or rent and return a bike at any of the 30 downtown stations for $6 a day. The program requires riders to wear a helmet and use arm signals when making turns. Some downtown hotels say they’ll make free helmets available to guests, and at least two bike shops will offer customer discounts to CoGo members.
