An Era Ends At OSU

One of the most iconic figures in Ohio State University history is cleaning out his desk today. OSU President Gordon Gee's last day in office is Monday. He first served as OSU's chief administrator from 1990 to 1997 before leaving to lead Brown University. He also led Vanderbilt University before returning to OSU in 2007. Gee is an accomplished fundraiser whose efforts were rewarded with a salary that regularly ranked near the top of the nation's university and college presidents. He announced his planned retirement in the wake of heavy criticism for off-color comments he made about Catholics and the Southeastern Conference. Gee says he's leaving the president's office to spend more time with his family.
