Ohio State Board of Trustees warned university president Gordon Gee about making disparaging comments in the future. Gee came under fire Thursday after his remarks about Catholics and other college conferences were made public. In a letter to Gee, board president Robert Schottenstein stated Gee could be fired if he makes another misstep.

Read the letter sent by Ohio State's Board of Trustees to Gordon Gee outlining a remediation plan for his comments about Catholics and Notre Dame.
The board also called on Gee to take part in a remediation plan which include issuing apologies to those he may have offended, reviewing his personal communication and speech-writing processes, and aligning his messages with the core values of the university's. Schottenstein also noted in the letter the board will consider Geeâs compensation during his annual job performance review. The board met with Gee at length when trustees learned of remarks in which Gee referred to "damn Catholics" in a reference to Notre Dame. Gee also attacked the academic integrity of the Southeastern Conference.
