Ohio Investigation Finds Minuscule Amount Of Possible Voter Fraud

Secretary of  State Jon Husted's office found possible voter fraud in Ohio's 2012 election, but it was a very low number of cases. Husted said investigators found 135 cases of possible fraud out of 5.6 million votes cast.  That means two one-thousandths of a percent of last November's vote was possibly fraudulent. "This report demonstrates that voter fraud does exist; but it is not an epidemic," Husted said. The cases of possible fraud were referred to law enforcement for further investigation. Husted says 20 people who are registered to vote in Ohio and another state will be referred to the Ohio Attorney General's office. The secretary of state also said his office found no cases of possible voter suppression in last year's presidential election. President Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney by more than 166-thousand votes in Ohio in 2012.
