New Albany Doctor Charged With Murder Of Pregnant Woman

A New Albany doctor has been charged with two counts of murder in the death of a young Pataskala woman and her unborn baby. Deanna Ballman, 23, was eight months pregnant when she was found dead inside a car in rural Delaware County last summer. Family members said she went missing while responding to a Craigslist job ad for cleaning a house in the New Albany area. Police quickly zeroed in on a home owned by physician Ali Salim. He's now charged with giving Ballman a lethal dose of heroin before raping her. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office says he was arrested at his home today and taken to the county jail while awaiting arraignment.
