The art-rich and thousands-years-old âDay of the Deadâ? holiday is being celebrated tonight in Columbus. The November 1st holiday closely associated with Mexican culture celebrates the lives of the deceased, often featuring camp-outs in cemeteries and relatives preparing the favorite meals of the deceased. Jen Miller with the non-profit Global Gallery says tonightâs event will feature Mexican art, folk music, and the iconic Day of the Dead sugar skulls. âJust really beautifully and brightly-decorated skulls,â? Miller says. âI really like this take when we think about death. Itâs one that really kind of shows itâs a natural part of life and it is something g to celebrate.â? Thursday nightâs Clintonville event features live Latin folk music and several takes on the iconic Mexican sugar skulls. Doors open at the North High Street location at 5 p.m. with festivities ending at 9 p.m.
