First Bath Salts Indictments In Franklin County

Three Central Ohio men face multi-count indictments in the first cases involving trafficking in bath salts in Franklin County. The charges include aggravated trafficking in drugs and spice. Prosecutors say the owners of The Joint, The Chamber, and The Garden in Columbus' Short North neighborhood were selling bath salts and synthetic marijuana out of the stores. Legislation signed by Gov. John Kasich last year adds synthetic marijuana, known as K2 or spice, and six synthetic derivatives of cathinone that have been found in bath salts to the list of Schedule 1 controlled substances.
