Thereâs some good news for the President today: a new independent poll gives Mr. Obama a lead in three key swing states. The President has at least 50 percent support in Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Thatâs according to a new survey of likely voters by Quinnipiac University, which gives the President a 50 to 44 percent lead over GOP challenger Mitt Romney in Ohio. The poll contained many of the campaignâs existing trends, including women overwhelmingly backing the Democratic president. The survey says 67 percent of Ohio voters support the Presidentâs plan to increase taxes only for those making more than $250,000 a year. It also says most Ohio voters think Mitt Romney should release more tax returns, and that the overwhelming majority of Ohioans see the economy as the key issue in the election, followed by health care and the federal deficit.
