The former director of the Delaware County humane society will spend more than three years in prison for stealing from the shelter. William Hadley pleaded guilty in March to three felonies charges, including those related to keeping a shelter truck, using humane society funds on renovations for his home, and putting more than $16,000 in charges on a credit card belonging to his co-director. Hadley will also have to pay about $27,000 in restitution. This will be Hadleyâs second time behind bars for stealing from an employer. In 2006 he was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing $750 from an employer. Prosecutors say he did not disclose his prior conviction before being hired by the Humane Society.
