Delaware County Deputy Linked To Davis Fired

The female deputy who reportedly had an inappropriate relationship with now-former Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis has been fired. Davis resigned earlier this month after media reports that he frequented a friend’s condominium along with Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy Janine Senanayake. Davis declined comment on what he called a personal matter. Senanayake also has not publicly addressed the reports, but on Tuesday she received a letter from the Sheriff’s Office saying she was terminated effective immediately for not satisfactorily completing her probationary period. The letter did not give specifics and the Sheriff’s Office declined further comment. Senanayake resigned from a Stark county police force in 2009 after surveillance video showed her kissing the police chief in a cruiser.
