Ohio Lawmakers Await Word On Governor's Plan To Hike Energy Taxes

Governor John Kasich has made it clear he wants to hike taxes on drillers who are extracting natural gas liquids from Ohio's shale fields and he wants to use the new revenue generated to pay for another cut in the state income tax paid by families and small companies. Kasich is expected to release details of his plan on Wednesday. He'll need approval from state lawmakers. But, he already has the support of most lawmakers for his plan.
