Santorum Stumps In Westerville Before Super Tuesday

In a last ditch effort before Super Tuesday vote, GOP candidate Rick Santorum reached out to supporters in Westerville. More than 500 people showed up to the Westerville American Legion to hear Rich Santorum’s stance on issues one more time before heading to the polls. He told the crowd that Ohio is the make or break state. “You’re used to this, you’re used to the pressure," he said. Santorum tired to separate himself from Mitt Romney who has edged ahead in the polls by a few percentage points. Santorum said he could relate to the middle-class, and referred to his grandfather who was a coal miner. “Of course it’s the roots of the folks here in Ohio that understand that working, blue collar image and that we have a country built on people coming out of the mines, coming out of the factories. Move up through the ranks. Have their children have maybe a little better opportunity," he said. Mentioning socialism at least three times, Santorum told the crowd he wants to lower taxes and reduce the size of government and number of entitlement programs. “That’s not to say people don’t give money to charities and help out. Sure. But you have a responsibility to provide for yourself and your family and those who you have a responsibility for. But see socialists and people who believe in big government and the left in America, they don’t see it that way. They think they are the one who should be allocating your resources," Santorum said. The Super Tuesday primary is expected to be close. 66 delegates are up for grabs.
