Bald Eagle Nest Closes Trail At Northwest Ohio Marsh Area

State wildlife officials say access to part of another northern Ohio park is being limited to protect a new bald eagle nest. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says a pair of bald eagles has built a nest at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, about 20 miles east of Toledo. Officials have closed one loop of a walking trail there in an effort to boost the eagles' chances of producing a successful nest. The state says another pair tried to build a nest at the marsh near the boardwalk several years ago but was unsuccessful. Signs of a bald eagle nest also led to restrictions on hiking and water activities at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in northeast Ohio this month. The bald eagle was recently removed from the endangered species list.
