The leader of minority Democrats in the Ohio Senate is stepping down. Senator Capri Cafaro said sheâs decided to give up her leadership post because she needs to concentrate her energies back in her Northeast Ohio district. "This has been a long time coming from a personal prospective. Thereâs so much thatâs on my plate. Iâm also running for re-election that complicates my schedule further. Certainly I canât reschedule candidates night just because I have an erratic schedule as minority leader so I have to make sure that for those things that are set in stone during a campaign year that I am at home for those things," Cafaro said. Senator Eric Kearney, the longest serving Democrat in the Ohio Senate, will be the new minority leader in the senate. Cafaro said he will be a good person to work with President Obamaâs re-election team.
