Red Cross Helping Marysville Fire Victims

The Red Cross is helping five of the six families displaced by an apartment complex fire in Marysville last night. Investigators still have not released an official cause for the blaze at the Vanover Village apartments near the Memorial Hospital of Union County just south of downtown Marysville. The Red Cross' Stuart Gray says they're helping the affected families meet their most basic needs. "We put a few families up in a motel. We're in the process now of figuring out who needs more motel stays. We'll also help with the clothing loss, replacing that, and helping them out with some funds for food," Gray says. Gray says the Red Cross was able to respond quickly, despite the fire happening on Christmas night. "No, not at all. In that respect it's just another fire that we respond to and we help the families." No injuries were reported in the fire.
