Halliburton is planning to bring about 300 jobs over the next three years to the Zanesville area as it looks to expected growth in Ohio's oil and natural gas industry. The Columbus Dispatch reports the company has struck a purchasing agreement with the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority to build on a portion of a 178-acre business park, just east of Zanesville. The port authority's executive director, Mike Jacoby, told The Zanesville Times Recorder that the Houston-based company intends to build an operations hub to support its customers working to make use of the Utica shale formation in eastern Ohio. The company is major provider of oil industry services. A purchase price has not been disclosed.
