Single Primary Moves Toward House Vote

The Ohio House could approve a bill to reunite the state’s 2012 primaries as soon as today. The bill is likely to clear committee and floor votes in the Ohio House on Wednesday, with Senate action to follow. The measure reunites separate primaries from March and June to May 22 for all local, state and federal party face-offs. The GOP-controlled legislature voted in October to move the presidential and U.S. House primaries to June to allow more time to settle a dispute over the state’s new Congressional map.
