Poll: Opposition to Issue 2 Grows, Gap at 25%

A new poll ahead of next month's election finds growing opposition to the new Ohio law limiting the bargaining rights of 350,000 public sector workers. A Quinnipiac  University Poll taken Oct. 17-23 found 57 percent of registered voters support repealing the law, compared with 32 percent who support it. The margin opposing the law has almost doubled since Quinnipiac's Sept. 27 poll. GOP voters support the union limits, 59 percent to 32 percent. But majorities by gender, race, income and education levels want the law overturned Nov. 8. Support for keeping Senate Bill 5 on the books spiked earlier in the summer. The phone survey of 1,668 registered voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percent. A debate about the ballot issue will air on 89-7 FM and  Ohio NBC affiliates this evening.
