Sears Considering Columbus As New Corporate Home

Columbus is reportedly among the two finalists for the new corporate headquarters of the Sears Holding Corporation. The company oversees some 4,000 retail outlets around the country. A package of tax incentives from its current home of Illinois is set to expire, and the Associated Press reports executives are considering a move to either Columbus or Austin, Texas. A company spokeswoman confirms they've toured two prospective sites, but she declined to name the cities. The Sears headquarters employees about 6,200 people.
