Shelby County Sheriff Indicted On Sexual Battery Charge

The sheriff in Shelby county accused of sexually assaulting one of his female deputies has been indicted on a sexual battery charge. Sheriff Dean Kimpel was indicted by an Auglaize County grand jury yesterday. Police say he was arrested and released after posting $10,000 bond. Prosecutors say the charge stems from allegations by a former Shelby County deputy who says Kimpel sexually assaulted her at her home last year. An attorney says Kimpel denies the charge.
