The mayor of Toledo appears in a new commercial countering an earlier ad with firefighters calling for the repeal of Ohio's collective bargaining law. In the 30-second ad, Mayor Mike Bell speaks of his own experience as a firefighter in the new ad airing Wednesday in support of the law. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II5KC7iNGF4&feature=player_embedded Bell says that he once lost a firefighting job because his city ran out of money. He says he supports the law because it gives communities tools to control spending and balance their budgets. The ad was produced by Building a Better Ohio, a Republican-driven campaign defending the law. A commercial rolled out last week by opponents of the law featured a firefighter saying the measure makes it illegal to negotiate for enough firefighters to do the job.
