Lancaster Fires Deemed Suspicious

Fire investigators in Lancaster are looking into a rash of suspicious fires early Thursday. Assistant Fire Chief Dave Ward said it was around 1 a.m. Thursday when the fire department got the first call. And they kept coming. "We had garage fires, fires on porches, car fires, dumpster fires and house fires," Ward said. Fire officials confirm at least 13 fires that totaled several cars, severely damaged a garage and nearly destroyed a home. Richard Esep owns a towing business in the neighborhood where many of the fires occurred. "Forty-two years we've been operating a towing company here and we've never had any problems like this at all," Esep said. Esep said he was lucky: neither his business or any vehicles on his lo were damaged.
