Central Ohio supporters of Libyan rebels plan another demonstration today

Central Ohio supporters of Libyan rebels plan another demonstration today.

Organizer Homdi Soliman of Columbus estimates 300 Libyan nationals live in Central Ohio. He says today's demonstration in the campus area is designed to show what he calls "solidarity" with the protesters in Libya. Soliman came to the U-S 30 years and won political asylum from the Gadhafi government. He says the Libyan protesters goal is freedom from fear.

"Just to be able to walk the street and not have the fear of being kidnaped by the Libyan government or by the Gadhafi's regime." Says Soliman. Soliman says he has intermittent cell phone access to acquaintances in Libya. Associated Press this morning reports fierce battles have landed new gains for rebels, who are advancing closer to Tripoli. AP says attacks by pro-government forces on two cities near the capital killed at least 17 people.
