Investigators in Bucyrus say the mobile home where three children died in an overnight fire did not have smoke detectors.
Shane Cartmill from the State Fire Marshal's Office says they've yet to piece together exactly what happened, other than the fire started late at night when the mother of the three children who died and another teenager who survived was at work.
"When firefighters arrived, they did find all four people in the home and did try to make a rescue on all four people," Cartmill says. "Three people, the three children, did die, either en route to or before they arrived at the hospital."
Investigators haven't said how the fire started, but that it likely began in the living room and quickly took over the mobile home.
The lone survivor, identified by a local newspaper as a 15-year-old boy, escaped with minor injures and was treated and released at a nearby hospital.
