Evidence of salmonella has been discovered at an Ohio egg farm in Croton.
The nation's largest egg distributor Cal-Maine Foods, says it's recalling nearly three-hundred thousand eggs from supplier Ohio Fresh Eggs in Croton after testing showed the presence of salmonella in an egg.
Jim Chakeres is the Executive Vice President of The Ohio Poultry Association. He talked with WOSU's Marilyn Smith about the background of today's discovery.
Chakeres says no illnesses have been reported. The contaminated eggs were distributed in Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
