Five Ohio wildlife officials, including a top administrator, have been charged over an allegedly falsified hunting license provided to an out-of-state wildlife officer.
A report by the state watchdog Friday says wildlife officer Allan Wright illegally let a South Carolina wildlife official use his home address in 2006 to receive an $19 Ohio license, saving $106.
The investigation found Ohio wildlife officials mishandled the matter and wrongly concluded the falsification was not illegal.
Ohio Division of Wildlife assistant chief Randy Miller was indicted Friday in Brown County on counts of obstructing justice and complicity. Wright faces counts of record tampering and falsification.
Messages left Friday for Miller and Wright were not immediately returned.
