Franklin County Voters Approve Metro Parks Levy.

Franklin County voters had their say on Tuesday. They approved a fraction of a mill tax levy to operate Franklin County MetroParks for the next ten years. The new MetroParks tax will add 23 dollars annually to the tax bill on a 100-thousand dollar home.

Voters in Westerville, Canal Winchester, Groveport Madison and Pickerington also said yes to school money issues. But, voters in Worthington, Reynoldsburg and Southwestern rejected tax requests for schools.

In Upper Arlington, voters by a wide margin turned down a bond issue earmarked for library expansion. Dan McCormick lead the anti-bond issue vote. He says library supporters were too quick to put the issue on the ballot and they asked for too much. McCormick says he expects another request for library money, but not in November.

"Well, it would concern me if anybody came back so quickly after the electorate has had their word and wanted to push something on them prematurely." Says McCormick.

A call to the head of the pro-bond issue campaign in Upper Arlington was not returned before airtime.
