Ohio's Republican state auditor predicts the Democratic governor's budget proposal will leave the state $8 billion dollars in the red in two year.
Auditor Mary Taylor says Governor Ted Strickland's spending plan relies heavily on one-time money such as federal stimulus funds. Taylor took the unusual step of crunching numbers and making a state budget projection, saying she wants to increase public awareness about the use of one-time money.
Governor Strickland's office responded with a release that asked Taylor and Legislative republicans to name the services they would cut or the taxes they would raise in place of using the federal stimulus money.
