A union leader says some corrections officers are being targeted for potential violence amid rising tensions at a state prison in north-central Ohio.
Ohio Civil Service Employee Association representative James McElvain says two Cleveland gangs have been feuding at the Mansfield Correctional Institution. He says the prison was placed on secure status after a series of fights on March 20.
Prison spokesman Scott Basquin says no one was seriously hurt in the fights, and he says inmate movement has been restricted and closely monitored ever since.
But McElvain says since inmates can't get to each other, they've now drawn up a "hit list" targeting guards. He also says some prisoners are saving food in preparation for a larger-scale uprising.
