Power Outages Force Columbus To Close Schools Again.

Utility crews are battling the dark for a fifth day today while some Ohio students return to class for the first time since remnants of Hurricane Ike struck on Sunday. Ohio power companies report that about 900,000 homes and businesses still have no power, down from a high of 2.6 million after the wind storm hit. Utilities are still saying some customers may have to wait until the weekend to see their service restored.

The outages have forced the closure for a fourth day of Columbus City Schools. 30 school buildings still lack power. Most Columbus Catholic schools are open but there's no bus service to any of the schools.

The following individual schools are closed:

Bishop Watterson High School Our Lady of Peace Immaculate Conception

Reynoldsburg High School Stevenson Elemenatry- Grandview Heights Etna Elementary-Whitehall Tremont Elementary-Upper Arlington Granville Elementary

Big Walnut district- all schools remain closed ------- Worthington schools- 2-hour delay no morning kindergarten nor pre-school. The following Worthington schools are closed

Colonial Hills Worthington Hills Worthington estates Wilson Hill and Worthingway.
