Barack Obama plans to spotlight energy and the economy in campaign stops this week in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
The Democrat is scheduled to make two stops in Ohio tomorrow, for town hall meetings at a Youngstown high school and at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea. Meanwhile, his campaign begins running a TV ad today that attacks Republican John McCain's energy policies. Referring to President Bush's previous work in the oil industry, the ad says: "After one president in the pocket of big oil we can't afford another."
Obama's spot trumpets his proposal to revive a windfall profits tax on energy companies to provide $1,000 emergency rebate checks for consumers.
