Cuyahoga County's top elected official has pledged cooperation with a federal investigation into alleged public corruption in Ohio's most populous county.
Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones made the commitment Tuesday in response to a massive raid by FBI and IRS agents Monday at the homes and offices of Commissioner Jimmy Dimora and Auditor Frank Russo.
Jones, who is president of the three-member board of commissioners, says Dimora told him by phone that he was shocked by the raid and didn't believe he had done anything illegal.
Jones also released a five-page inventory of items that agents seized from Dimora's office, including calendar appointments, employment applications and fundraising lists.
The commissioners are all Democrats.
