The Ohio House has overwhelmingly approved a compromise long-term energy plan after adding changes designed to keep customers' bills down.
The House approved the bill 93-1 after marathon talks among the House, Senate and Gov. Ted Strickland led to an agreement.
The changes the House put in Tuesday include more authority for regulators over what costs utilities can pass on to customers.
Senate President Bill Harris says the Senate wants time to review the changes but plans to approve the bill on Wednesday. The bill had languished in the House since the Senate first passed it in November.
