The award-winning "Freeheld: The Legacy of Laurel Hester" will get a special screening at Studio 35 in Columbus this weekend.
The work of director Cynthia Wade, Freeheld is the story of Laurel Hester a dying New Jersey police officer who was barred from transferring her pension to her partner, a gay woman.
Producer O'Brien Kelley says Wade was given extraordinary access to Hester and her partner, Stacie Andree.
The film will be screened at Studio 35 on Indianola Avenue Friday, June 15th at 6 and 10 PM and Satuday night at 6 and 10:15 PM.
