Franklin County Sheriff Jim karnes has cancelled the level one snow emergency issued yesterday for Franklin county.
The roadways may be better than they were yesterday, but thousands of Ohioans are still without power today.
Some fifteen-hundred American Electric Power customers are still without power today. A-E-P says affected areas include Lancaster, Crooksville and Zanesville. Company official says they expect to restore power to eighty-percent of those people by tonight, the rest by noon Friday.
It's even worse in southwestern Ohio. Approximately twenty-six thousand Ohio customers still have no electricity, including some twenty-thousand Duke Energy customers in the Cincinnati area. The company has brought in five hundred workers from other regions to help restore service lost mostly on account of heavy ice that snapped power lines.
South Central Power says about forty-four hundred of its customers are still out, in an area south and east of Columbus. The utility says most customers who've lost power should have their lights back on by tonight.
