More Scrutiny At Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation

The Democrat who's been criticizing Republicans over a $300,000,000 investment loss at the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation is getting a taste of the scandal himself. Attorney general candidate Marc Dann announced last week that he's returning $60,000,000 to a campaign contributor that has received about $29,000,000 in bureau business since 1997.

The campaign of Dann's opponent, state Auditor Betty Montgomery, says the state senator should have known those contributions were problematic. Dann says no one demanded he return the money and there's no allegation that anybody did anything wrong, but he wanted to avoid even the appearance of a conflict.
