City crews clear homeless from downtown locations

Columbus refuse and fire crews today cleaned-up and disinfected sidewalks beneath railroad trestles in the 300 block of West State Street. The area is near the now-closed Open Shelter for men.

Each day an estimated 30 or more individuals seek shade or protection from wind and rain.

The city action was the first clean-up of the area since the Open Shelter was closed on June 30th.
