Investigators link I-71 to outerbelt shootings

Investigators have linked Thursday's early morning shooting of a car on I-71 to 19 other shootings south of Columbus.

A man driving north on I-71 reported seeing someone on an overpass shortly after a bullet struck the hood of his car. The man was not hurt and quickly called police.

Franklin County Sherrif's Chief Deputy Steve Martin says detectives did not recover bullets from the scene, but he says other evidence leads investigators to believe the shooting is connected to 19 others, including the November attack that killed 62-year-old Gail Knisley. The latest shooting is several miles away from most of the others that have occurred in the area.
