Motts Military Museum grows

The Motts Military Museum is growing. The Groveport museum which features military artifacts from the Indian wars to Operation Iraqi Freedom will soon double its size.

To say Warren Motts is a military history buff would be a disservice to the term understatement.

Motts, with his signature fluffy, handlebar mustache and his signature passion for history, recently gave a tour of his museum.

The Motts Military Museum is on South Hamilton Road in Groveport.

The museum has artifacts from just about ever military conflict in which the United States fought - the Indian Wars, The Revolutionary War, the Civil War, both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, even the Cold War.

The problem is Warren Motts has run out of room. So, he and about 60 volunteers are building a 5,300 square foot addition due to open this summer.

Mike Thompson spends much of his time correcting people who mispronounce the name of his hometown – Worcester, Massachusetts. Mike studied broadcast journalism at Syracuse University when he was not running in circles – as a distance runner on the SU track team.
