Authorities link all 12 shootings near outerbelt

The detective in charge of the investigation into a series of shootings along a Columbus-area highway says authorities have linked 12 shootings. Franklin County Sheriff Chief Deputy Steve Martin says ballistics evidence has linked four bullets to a single gun, including a shot through a school window during the night of November 11th. Authorities say no one was injured at Hamilton Township Elementary School, which is about two miles from Interstate 270. Martin won't say what kind of weapon was used. Authorities are offering a ten-thousand dollar reward for information about shootings, which have mainly targeted vehicles on a 5-mile stretch of I-270 on the south side of Columbus. A 62-year-old woman was killed last week when a bullet came through the car in which she was riding. No other injuries have been reported.
