Medal Of Freedom Honoree Gloria Estefan

On Tuesday, President Obama will be presenting the Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to 17 individuals. On the list is multiple Grammy-winning singer Gloria Estefan, who is cited for crossing over between English and Spanish language music, “paving the way for countless other Latin artists to follow.”

As we learned when Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson spoke with Gloria Estefan in September of 2013, she also has a deep love of American standards. Today, we revisit that conversation.
