Hanky Panky Appetizer - Kate’s Quick Bites

Columbus Children’s Theatre Inspires.

Columbus Children’s Theatre’s Artistic Director, Zac Delmonte, shares this family favorite.

Zac said, “This is a vintage recipe, popular in the 70's and 80's. My family makes them every year for holidays and special gatherings. Not the healthiest option, but a comforting, crowd-pleasing recipe nonetheless!”

Ingredients
1 lb. 80/20 ground beef
1 lb. mild/"original" pork sausage
16 oz original Velveeta
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
24 oz Rye cocktail party bread

Directions
Brown the beef and sausage together. Drain, if needed, and season with black pepper and garlic.

Add Velveeta, melt it into the meat over low heat.

Spoon 1 tbsp of the meat and cheese mixture onto each cocktail bread square.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted.
